Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive

Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive is a first Treatment Essence, that is, you can directly apply on your face without using a toner, voila, you just saved time and money by combining Toner and Essence. There are many First Essences but Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive is a cult favorite and a cheaper version of  the famous SK-II. This contain 80% fermented Yeast Extract and is supposed to help with wrinkle repairing and whitening. It ought to provide moisturising effect, skin radiance and skin firming. In short, it is a multi functioning product. Hmm… very interesting! But How?

This is what the Product description explains at Missha’s us website:

“Contains 80% Fermented Yeast Extract: Extracted from fission yeast, which has a similar structure to the multiplication of human cells, this fermented yeast extract is skin-friendly and has similar components to NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) to help improve the foundation of skin through moisturizing, firming, and balancing.”

Skin Type: According to product description, it is suitable for all skin type. Yes, people with oily skin can just use this, along with really light emulsion or lotion during the summer but dry skin beauty will require a good cream.

My skin is extremely dry. So, the moisturizing part is very true! It did moisturise my skin!

Skincare Issue: Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive Claims to work for Wrinkles, uneven skin tone, Dryness, dullness and provide firmness. Also, provide soothing and hydrating effect. (Phew!!!) So Much!!!

My skin is bit sensitive, dry, dull and uneven, sometime struggle with mild acne. Therefore, I purchased it.

Not Suitable for: Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive might not suit for severely acne prone skin, extremely sensitive skin or skin allergic to Yeast Extracts.

This product didn’t break me out or caused any kind of irritation. But I will suggest to do a patch test for at least 2 days, before applying on entire face.

Ingredients List:  This picture was really tough to take! Dah! The packaging of outer box is very shiny! Hope it is readable without straining the eyes.

Cosdna: You can check the ingredients Analysis at the below mentioned link:

http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_17f1294246.html

According, to this analysis the product appears really safe to use with least irritability.

My Tip: I would suggest to look out for ingredients that did not suit you in the past. Like, I have high sensitivity towards Salicylic Acid, even the Betaine  Salicylate at 0.5 % causes mild irritation, though these are indicated as safe ingredients. So do look out very carefully!

How to use:

  1. After washing your face, get appropriate amount onto cotton puff [Premium Silk-feel Cotton Puff] or hands.
  2. Pat lightly onto skin until completely absorbed.
  3. Follow up with Other essence/ Serum/ Ampoule < Eye Cream < Emulsion/ Lotion < Cream
  4. Enjoy!!! 🙂

Packaging: The packaging is sturdy, evenly cylindrical plastic container with Steel finish cap and is travel friendly. For the intensive version there are two types of packaging. One in 130 ml (the one I have and reviewing in this blog) and the other one in 150 ml, it is cylindrical in shape but gets tapered towards top and I think it is in glass material.

Dispenser:  Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive does not have any special dispensing system, you just have to dump the product from the bottle via small opening provided as seen in picture below. It does come with plastic seal on top of dispenser, which you can keep and reuse or just throw away. I threw away mine, it was irritating to remove seal every time.

Quantity: This one is in 130 ml

Price: I purchased Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive from http://www.amazon.in/ at Rs. 928 only! Lucky me! It was on huge discount and was available locally with the seller. (By the term locally, I mean, it was available in India at that time. Most of the time, these K-Beauty Products are imported from USA while selling them on Amazon India.)

Consistency/ Texture/ Fragrance:  The essence is very watery, it is very close to water but with a difference that it is very moisturising. Yes! It is! Even on dry skin! As far as a fragrance is concerned, it is mostly fragrance free but while dispensing it, I can smell a very Yeasty fragrance, (Should I even call it fragrance?  because I didn’t like it.) but the good thing is it fades away after few secs.

The content is very watery!

Absorbability:  The essence gets absorbed very quickly, leaving your skin smooth and soft.

Gets absorbed easily with no stickiness.

Conclusion: Overall the product is pretty good. I am happy that I purchased it.

  1. Did I see Brightening Effect: No.
  2. Wrinkle/ Fine Line improvement: I have few fine lines around eyes…..I think I saw a little improvement, may be, not sure, cause I was using it in conjunction with other products.
  3. Dryness improvement: Yes, definitely!
  4. Dullness Gone: Yes
  5. Moisturising: YES! YES!
  6. Radiance: Yes
  7. Even skin tone: No.
  8. Firmness: Nah!

So, Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive did cover few things for me! I did enjoy using it! I think I finished it in some 3 months. I used it day and night as my first step essence. I think to see more result, one need to use it consistently for long time.

Do I recommend it? Yes definitely!! But please check out the ingredients carefully before using, in case you are allergic to any!

Will I repurchase? Not for now! May be sometime in future!I have more stuffs to try! Right now I am using Mizon water volume ex first essence.

Rating: 3.5

Reason: Considering the hype, Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive should have performed better in 3 months of time. The fragrance was bit off for me. But it is a good product! Moisturising and hydrating! Don’t how many times I have already said this. (because I am still surprised that how come a watery stuff be so moisturising?)
