Hello Beautiful! Today I will be reviewing one of my favorite Innisfree product, the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. Unlike many other available eye creams, it does not claim to solve multiple under eye skin issues but it does have an alluring description written on it and here it goes… “the meticulously extracted active ingredient from jeju (Yes! Innisfree = Jeju!) orchid deliver exceptional sleekness to your thirsty skin (I agree!!) with its outstanding antioxidant effects. The anti aging cream formulated with the vitality of jeju orchid to densify and smooth (sorry for the disturbance but still not sure about this!!) the thin and sensitive eye area”. Ooohh!!
Innisfree Orchid eye cream is mainly directed for mature and mainly dry skin. So, ladies! the moment you hit 25 or so… it is nice to have good under eye cream. This becomes more important if your skin is exceptional dry and sensitive, (I am pointing here towards the under eye skin, so here, in this blog skin = under eye skin).
It is mainly targeted for under eye dryness, fine lines and wrinkles; maybe a bit towards dark circles.
Honestly I don’t think there is any permanent solution for dark circles. Number of factors other than daily routine affects them (by daily routine I mean lack of sleep and glaring on LED screens), they can be genetic, certain health issues, dryness and sensitivity of skin around eyes, using too much of makeup and not removing it properly, stress, etc. For removing my makeup I use Heimish All Clean Balm, this melts away all the eye makeup without irritating eyes. I have already reviewed it and it is my holy grail product.
I have dry skin and under eye skin condition is even worst, it’s very thin and sensitive. Dark circles and fine lines have permanent abode on my eye area. So, this is the reason I opted for the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. Extreme dryness is my main concern. Dryness results in more fine lines. (Dahhh!!)
Not Suitable for:
Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream is not suitable for combination, acne prone and oily skin. Also, do check for the ingredients, in case you are allergic to any!!!
Here is a link to check ingredients analysis!
It has so many ingredients… and there are few acne triggering ingredients. So, in case you are suffering or had acne problem, do try sample size first. I have been using it from past 2 months, daily in the morning and evening, and so far it is going good.
How to use:
There are different types of eye treatment products, it can be in serum form, gel or most commonly in cream form. As the name suggest, it is in cream form. I apply gently by tapping and massaging by ring finger only. Do not rub hard, this will only cause more damage over the time instead of improvement.
I use it in the order:
Toner> essence> (Serum, if any) > Eye cream > Lotion > Cream
Tip: If the eye treatment product is in serum, gel or any other watery consistency, it would be good to use it directly after toner.
It comes in a sturdy plastic purple tub type container. The lid is airtight and works very smoothly. The quality is really good!! It not like any other ordinary plastic tub! Since, the container is small it is travel friendly.
No special dispensing system and there is no separate spatula to scoop out the product, this can be a minus point for few of you in term of hygiene. I have no issue with this as I am not sharing it with anyone. 😛
The product does not have after opening expiry period but the description on product does suggest to finish the product as soon as possible. After manufacturing Expiry period is of 36 months.
The product comes in good 30 ml quantity.
I got mine for Rs.2000 from Nykaa
Also, available at stylekorean.
The consistency is thick like that of rich night creams. The texture is very smooth and silky. It has an awesome floral fragrance and is not strong but in case you are sensitive to fragrance it might be too potent. I am really enjoying this eye cream. So, far this is the best.
Though this looks rich and very creamy but it absorbs instantly; leaving smooth, supple and soft under eye skin 😀
Do I recommend it? Yes Yes!!! If your under eye skin is very dry, sensitive and fine lines keep resurfacing and apparently you have wrinkles and dark circle (not too much though!!), Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream is just perfect.
Will I repurchase? Maybe later! Now now! Because I am in search of the perfect eye cream which can work perfectly for dark circles as well as dryness (I know this is really difficult). But Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream is must have for those dry winter days.
The problem with eye cream is that moisturising effect and dark circle treatment cannot be achieved together. I have used both l’oreal revitalift laser eye cream and l’oreal paris white perfect magic eye cream for wrinkles and dark circles respectively but saw zero results and it was such a waste of money as both the eye creams even failed to provide moisturization (I am not trying to bash the L’oreal eye creams, this was just my experience!). Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream is much much better !!! 🙂
- Did Innisfree Orchid cream moisturize under eye skin? Yes Yes! My eyes are in best condition now in terms of moisturization. No more flaky and irritated skin.
- Did it work on fine lines? Yes but I am not sure as I have used it only for 2 months and jar is still full.
- Did it work on dark circles? May be a little. Still too soon to give final verdict.
- Is it worth the money? Yes it is! Rs.2000 for 30 ml might look expensive in the beginning but little goes long way. I have been using it daily in the morning and evening, past 2 months and jar is still full. I haven’t skipped a day! 😛
I have deducted 1 point because I haven’t seen much improvement in dark circle around my eyes. But lets see. I will update once again after I finish using the product. 😀
So, that’s all folks!!
