Innisfree the green tea seed serum

Hello Readers! I hope you had an awesome October!! It was a festive month all around the world!! For today’s post I am reviewing yet another star product with the star ingredient “Green Tea” from brand Innisfree. Innisfree the green tea seed serum is known for its moisturization and skin hydration from inside out. It also provide skin nourishment without stickiness, and is suitable for all season!! But is it really worth the hype? I have been using it for almost 5 months and my thoughts are gonna be a final one!! So, read along!! 😉

Skin Type:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum is suitable for all skin type. It’s a very mild serum! This is a rare case!! How many products do that?? 😬

Not Suitable for:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum might not be suitable to anyone allergic to the ingredients used in it.

Ingredients List and CosDNA Analysis:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum

Innisfree the green tea seed serum is a very soothing, hydrating and moisturizing Serum. I think even sensitive and acne prone skin can use it. As from Cosdna Analysis,  it is absolutely free from any skin irritating ingredients. Its active ingredients are Green Tea Extract and Green Tea seed Oil. Also, I so glad that I didn’t see water as the first ingredients, because many serum does contain water as the carrier and that literally dilutes the content and make the product ineffective.

Green Tea Extract: This amazing ingredient is rich in antioxidants, provides skin soothing, moisturizing and sun protection (but I will not recommend to skip sunscreen, specially outdoor)!!

Green Tea seed Oil: Apart from all the green tea benefit, the oil has special feature of locking and sealing moisture on skin for long time, plus it nourishes dry dull skin and unlike many oils, this is non-comedogenic.

How to use:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum is a very versatile serum! When using this you don’t need additional toner or essence and it is a “first step serum“, which means it is to be used immediately after cleansing and drying face! it can be used both morning and night!

I have been using it in my morning routine (my summer and monsoon routine):

Innisfree the green tea seed serum > Innisfree Orchid eye cream > Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream > Klairs Mid-Day Blue sun lotion

This routine is perfect for Normal skin, dry skin and combination skin. People with oily skin can use it during winter.

Packaging:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum comes in green transparent sturdy plastic bottle kind of packaging with a pumping nozzle to dispense the product.

Expiry Period: Innisfree the green tea seed serum has a shelf life of 36 months (I am guessing it, as mine says that expiry year is 2020, I bought this limited edition in the year 2017 and no product has an expiry period beyond 3 years). It’s better to finish the product within 12 months of opening.

Quantity:  Innisfree the green tea seed serum comes in 80 ml quantity and the variant reviewed here came in 160 ml quantity. The difference is in quantity and external printing!! Content is all same!!

Price: I purchased Innisfree the green tea seed serum from Nykaa (India only) for $28. It is also available on few of the options below.

Consistency/Texture/Fragrance:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum is thick in consistency! The texture is very smooth and non-sticky! It has its own signature fragrance! It’s fresh and not very overpowering! The scent doesn’t linger for long!

The sheen is a proof of how moisturizing it is!! (That pink tint is of the Peripera Lip Tint!! This bad boy doesn’t go away that easily!!)

Absorbability:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum has really good absorption rate, even inspite being thick and slippery. The serum sinks in quickly on patting, without stickiness and leaves skin soft and moisturised.

Conclusion:

Innisfree the green tea seed serum is my go to serum in the morning. I love it for everything it can offer, the skin moisturization, soothing effect, the fragrance and literally everything!!  😘

Pros:

  1. Easily available.
  2. Provides skin moisturization and Hydration for all skin types, but for extremely dry skin, It’s better to follow up with a moisturizer especially during dry weather condition.
  3. Nourish Skin without stickiness, and it is this factor that brightens the skin due to added glow!
  4. Improve skin texture.
  5. It’s worth adding to skin care routine, especially the morning routine!
  6. Has no skin irritating ingredient.
  7. Paraben Free.
  8. Alcohol Free.
  9. Has mild fresh fragrance. I am a fan of it!!

Cons:

  1. It might be a mah for few, since does not provide wrinkle improvement and scar reduction and it never claims to!

Do I recommend it? Yes! It a very safe product! and a must have!

Will I repurchase? Yes I will!! It makes the morning routine very hassle free.

Rating: 5/5

It does not claim to provide mind blowing skin brightening or scar fading results, but promises to improve overall skin texture over the time! I think this aspect is very important, because just exfoliating and continuous skin brightening products tents to sensitize skin and compromise skin barrier! So, having a skin calming and moisturizing product is very important!!  This is my reason to give it 5 star.

😍
