Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

Hello! It is summer and a time to review a Sunscreen! Today’s post gonna be about Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence, a Japanese Sunscreen and a cult favourite!! Sunscreens are so tricky for me! Most of the chemical one with zero white cast contain salicylate salts, something which reacts my skin on prolonged usage! While the physical sunblock leave terrible white cast!! Thus, my requirement for sunscreen include too many things 😅😝

  1. No white cast.
  2. Should not dry out my skin (few sunscreen can do that to dry skin).
  3. Should not move on skin, I know this is so weird but happens with most of the physical sunblock.
  4. Should not contain salicylate salt in it!!
  5. For whatsoever reason should not irritate my skin.

Skin Type:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is suitable for all skin types, but since it contains alcohol (does not bother me much), usage and suitability can vary:

  • Dry skin: Humid summer and monsoon. My category! 😅
  • Normal and Combination Skin: Dry/ Humid Summer and monsoon.
  • Oily skin: All season.

Not Suitable for:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence might not be suitable to any skin type intolerant to high alcohol percentage in a product or sensitive skin in general.

Ingredients List and CosDNA Analysis:

In middle of all chemical sunscreen ingredients Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence does contain skin soothing and hydrating ingredients like Sodium Hyaluronate and Royal Jelly Extract, it is so clear that this is a purely chemical sunscreen, so if you ever had a skin reaction to this type of sunscreen, do try out the patch test! Also I wish it didn’t have those parabens…!! That would have made it perfect sunscreen! The Cosdna Analysis, does look a little bad at the bottom, thanks to parabens!!

How to use:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence is a part of my morning skincare routine, like the one shown below. I would recommend that dry skin should use a good moisturizer beneath this sunscreen, as otherwise, skin would dry out later due to alcohol!!

Packaging:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence comes in a  vibrant blue tube type packaging!! It is simple and functional. Isn’t the blazing blue packaging so  cool for summer?? 😍

The dispensing hole is little larger than most of the tube type packaging, so dispense the product carefully.

Expiry Period: Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence has a shelf life of 3 years!

Quantity: Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence comes in a 50 gm quantity.

Price: I bought Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence from Myra_beautty, Indian instagram kbeauty and Japanese product seller (for India only) for Rs. 700.

Consistency/Texture/Fragrance:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence has a watery lotion like consistency, the texture looks bit gritty with pale yellow color, but runs smoothly on application. For the fragrance, it has a very light indescribable scent, may be little floral, the confusion is because the fragrance is masked with alcohol smell!!😕😒 I am glad that alcoholic smell fades away immediately after application. 😄

Absorbability:

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence absorbs quite quickly, without any stickiness! It leaves the skin surface soft semi-matte to matte finish depending on your skin type. I am loving its matte silky finish for summer!! Plus Zero White cast!! Also, it feels little cooling, moment it touches the skin.

The soft gritty texture I was talking about!!

Dang!! It’s all gone!!

Conclusion:

In conclusion, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence stands up for all its rave!! I totally get the fact why it has been among top selling sunscreen in Japan and now worldwide!! It keeps my dry sensitive skin fresh soft and matte even in a very humid climatic condition (I think alcohol with rest of the formulation is the reason behind it). I love that it applies very very easily!! This is the only sunscreen I have come across with such easy slather on texture!! I had been using it for past one month or so!!

Let me tell you no sunscreen is perfect, one might find certain slacks in every brand sunscreen, and what’s most important is that you are using the sunscreen consistently! Rest really doesn’t matter! Sunscreen is the only category of skincare product which is very subjective than the rest!

Pros:

  1. Zero white cast.
  2. Application is very easy.
  3. Contains SPF 50+ PA++++ (like omg! 4+, this is crazy!!).
  4. Didn’t irritate my dry sensitive skin.
  5. Does not feel sticky, nor it moves around on skin.
  6. Affordable.
  7. Does not contain salicylate salt (This is my personal preference).
  8. Claims to be sweatproof and waterproof, but I am doubtful, as I haven’t checked it for that!

Cons:

  1. Contains high percentage of alcohol, it is not mentioned, but the strong scent of it, makes me think so!! I don’t have problem with it, but few people might!!
  2. Contains Paraben. why all famous japanese products contain parabens?

Do I recommend it? Yes, to all skin types, especially for summer.

Will I repurchase? Yes, this has become my favourite for summer, but only after cosrx one! 😉 But I am happy to have an alternative to my favourite one!! Having options is always better! 😘

Rating: 4.5/5

Even though it contain alcohol and parabens (The very reason to reduce some point), but as I said it is about using the sunscreen which you prefer!! I personally do not have so much of problem with alcohol, and I am enjoying it for the summer!! But I won’t be using it for winter neither I recommend it for winter, especially for dry skin, as it can dry out skin excessively!!

So, finally a sunscreen for summer!! I have used so many sunscreen, most of them failed on my skin, even though they contained all the goodness of skincare world, except the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence (second choice) and the cosrx aloe soothing sun cream (this will still be my first choice for my dry skin, especially for winters).

What’s your favourite sunscreen? 😍😄
